Singer Chris Martin and actor Dakota Johnson have reportedly parted ways after being together for eight years. According to a report by People, a source close to the couple revealed that their breakup feels final this time. For the unversed, Chris and Dakota have reportedly been in an on-and-off relationship.
This is not the first time the couple was involved in breakup rumours. Chris and Dakota were earlier rumoured to have parted ways in 2024 but the couple put the end to those rumours soon after they were seen together. Meanwhile, Dakota also accompanied Chris to India for Coldplay’s concert in Mumbai and Ahmedabad. They also went to temples together and visited Kumbh Mela as well.
In an earlier interview with Bustle, Dakota praised Chris and said she loves seeing perform. She said, “I don’t know. I love watching him. I could watch him every day. I don’t know how to explain it. I feel like, I don’t know… I’m watching my most favorite being do his most favorite thing.”
Chris was previously married to the actress Gwyneth Paltrow and they have two children together. They separated after 10 years of marriage in 2014. Dakota also shares a close bond with Chris’ children. She earlier told Bustle, “I love those kids like my life depends on it.”

Meanwhile, on the work front, Dakota is gearing up for the release of her upcoming movie ‘Materialists’ with Chris Evans and Pedro Pascal. The movie is scheduled to release worldwide on June 13 and will showcase Dakota in a love triangle with Pedro and Chris.
Whereas, Chris Martin is currently on his world tour concerts with other Coldplay members. The band recently performed at Stanford. Coldplay had a five-day show in India in January 2025.
