The Gujarat District Child Protection Unit has issued a legal notice to Coldplay ahead of their much-anticipated concert at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on January 25 and 26, 2025. The British rock band has been instructed to ensure that no children are involved on stage during the performance. The notice comes as part of health and safety regulations concerning sound levels.
Child Protection Guidelines Imposed
The notice mandates that children attending the concert must wear earplugs due to the high sound levels expected. The District Child Protection Unit specifically stated that sound levels exceeding 120 decibels could pose a risk to children’s hearing health. The organisers have been warned that failure to comply with these rules may lead to strict legal action.\
The legal notice comes after a complaint from a resident of Chandigarh raised concerns over the potential harm to children during Coldplay’s concerts. The authorities are taking a proactive stance to ensure the health and safety of young attendees during the event.
Coldplay’s Return To India After Nine Years
Coldplay, known for their iconic hits and energetic performances, will also perform in Mumbai on January 18, 19, and 21, 2025. This will be the band’s first performance in India in nine years, following their last appearance in 2016 as part of the Global Citizen Festival in Mumbai. The band, led by Chris Martin, will be returning to the Indian stage with great anticipation.
