Chris Martin On Coldplay’s Retirement:
Chris Martin, in an interview with Zane Lowe, revealed that Coldplay will retire after making 12 albums. This heartbreaking news has made fans question if Coldplay will stop doing concerts as well after officially retiring. While speaking to Zane Lowe, Chris Martin revealed that he might collaborate with other bandmates in the future but it will be beyond touring. He explained, “So if we do something together after that creatively beyond touring, then it’ll be something different.”
He further shared that the decision to retire after making 12 albums was not sudden as he is inspired by legends like the Beatles and Bob Marley. The Coldplay Frontier said, “We are only going to do 12 proper albums and that’s real. Having that limit means the quality control is so high right now and for a song to make it, it’s almost impossible, which is great. And so where we could be coasting, we’re trying to improve.”
The group was formed in 1997 and was earlier called ‘Big Fat Noises’ and ‘Starfish’.
