New Delhi: Parineeti Chopra’s film Code Name Tiranga has recorded a poor opening at the box office. The film was released with Ayushmann Khurrana’s campus comedy titled Doctor G. Code of Tiranga has opened at just around ₹15 lakh whereas Doctor G opened with around ₹3.25 crore.
Box Office Collection
According to early estimates on Boxofficeindia.com, Code Name Tiranga has collected in the range of Rs 10-15 lakh despite the low ticket rates at Rs 100 on day 1. The report states: “The cheap ticket theory for a better collections is slowly dying a slow death with films like Goodbye and Code Name Tiranga. It worked on cinema day for films like Chup and Dhoka but that was a one off.”

About Code Name Tiranga
The espionage drama is written and directed by Ribhu Dasgupta. Apart from Parineeti Chopra, the film also stars singer-actor Harrdy Sandhu, Sharad Kelkar, Rajit Kapur, Shefali Shah, Dibyendu Bhattacharya, Shishir Sharma and Sabyasachi Chakrabarty. This is Shefali Shah’s second film released on the same day.

In the film, Parineeti essayed the role of an undercover RAW agent called Durga. In an interview with PTI, Parineeti said, “This is a new phase in my life, Parineeti 2.0. This film (Code Name: Tiranga) is part of that phase for me, where I have grown. If the last three films hadn’t worked, if they (people) would have rejected those films then I would have understood that they don’t want to see me do this, but they want to.”
The film was majorly shot in Turkey and will release on the OTT platform Netflix.
