Cocaine Case Against Malayalam Actor Shine Tom Chacko Ends: Know What Led To His Acquittal in 2015, Court’s Verdict & More!

Shine Tom Chacko was arrested in January 2015 after conducted a raid in an apartment in Kochi.

Malayalam actor Shine Tom Chacko on Tuesday has been acquitted in the 2015 cocaine case along with six others. The decision was announced by the Ernakulam Additional Sessions court as the blood test results confirmed that there were no traces of cocaine in their system. As per reports, seven accused have been acquitted among the eight people.

About The Case:

Accprding to Times Now, Shine Tom Chacko along with Reshma, Blessy, Tincy Babu, Sneha Babu, Okowe Chigozie Collins, Prithviraj, and Jasbir Singh were accused in the case charged under the Narcotic Drugs And Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act 1985. The police arrested Shine, Reshma, Blessy, Tincy, and Sneha after conducting a raid at an apartment in Kochi in 2015.

The actor along with four women was in jail for two months and later got bail from the Kerala High Court in March 2015. While speaking about the case and his time in jail in a interview with a radio station, Shine said, “I read a Paulo Coelho book in jail which gave me fresh hope. I spent 60 days in there. I told myself that movies would have antagonists, not just protagonists, to encourage myself.”

The actor is yet to react to the court’s decision in this case.
