According to Prime Video, the official synopsis of ‘Citadel Honey Bunny’ reads, “The Indian series from the world of Citadel, executive producers the Russo Brothers and filmmakers Raj and DK. When stuntman Bunny recruits struggling actress Honey for a side gig, they are hurled into a high-stakes world of action, espionage and betrayal. Years later, as their dangerous past catches up, the estranged Honey and Bunny must reunite and fight to protect their young daughter Nadia.”

Apart from Varun Dhawan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu, the series will star Kay Kay Menon, Kashvi Majmundar, Simran, Saqib Saleem, Sikander Kher, Shivankit Parihar and Soham Majumdar in pivotal roles.

Samantha earlier talked about what drew her to ‘Citadel Honey Bunny’. “It’s not gimmicky and full of high-tech gadgets and technology. The world that is created is so real. The characters are genuinely relatable—ordinary people placed in extraordinary circumstances. That drew me in immediately. I also believe it was a brilliant move to set the show in the nineties. Everything about this world feels authentic,” she said, as quoted by ETimes.

The actress added, “By choosing the 90s as the backdrop, there’s a greater dependence on human capabilities rather than on gadgets. It’s more about human wit and hand-to-hand combat, resulting in a very raw experience. When you think of a spy film, high-tech gadgets and fancy technology often come to mind, but those elements can overshadow emotions and character arcs.”
