Cigarettes After Sex Cancels Bengaluru Show Over Technical Issues; Diljit Dosanjh’s Comments On Infrastructure Resurface

American pop band Cigarettes After Sex is currently in India for their concert but their recent show in Bengaluru was cancelled at the last minute. Their show was cancelled due to technical difficulties. Amid this announcement, Punjabi singer Diljit Dosanjh’s old comment on India’s infrastructure for the live shows.

The post reads, “We’re heartbroken to announce that due to technical difficulties which were the responsibility of local production at the venue and beyond our control, we’re unable to perform and unfortunately have to cancel tonight’s show in Bengaluru. We’re so incredibly sorry we can’t see you all tonight and truly tried everything we could to make it happen. BookMyShow will reach out to you with information on refunds for the show as well. love you so much.”

“Unfortunately the local production had technical difficulties they couldn’t fix. we tried everything we could to make the show happen, but the problems are with the local production & beyond our control. we waited months & months to see you & are heartbroken that there’s nothing we can do. love you all & are so sorry for this,” the caption read.

Fans were disappointed by this sudden cancelation and expressed their dissatisfaction in the comment section. One fan wrote, “I did not travel half way across india for this.” Another person wrote, “What about the thousands of people already here and waiting.”

In one of his concert for ‘Dilluminati tour’, Diljit had shared that India does not have good infrastructure for live shows. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently urged the state governments and the private sector to focus on infrastructure and skills to give a boost to the ‘concert economy’ sector after the success of Coldplay’s show in India.

“You must have seen fabulous pictures of Coldplay concerts organised in Mumbai and Ahmedabad. It shows that India has a massive scope for live concerts. Big artists from around the world are attracted towards India,” PM Modi said at the ‘Utkarsh Odisha – Make in Odisha Conclave 2025’ in Bhubaneswar.

Meanwhile, Cigarettes After Sex performed earlier in Gurugram and Mumbai.
