Actor Dinesh Phadnis, popularly known for playing the role of Fredericks in the hit crime show ‘CID’, died on Tuesday at the age of 57. His co-actor on the show, Dayanand Shetty, who played the role of Inspector Daya on the show, confirmed the news of his death.
As Reported by Indian Express, he said, “Dinesh breathed his last at 12.08 am.” The actor was in his late 50s, and was receiving treatment at Mumbai’s Tunga Hospital. He also said that died of multiple organ failure.
Daya added, “There were a lot of complications and he was removed from ventilator last night.” The funeral of the actor will take place in Mumbai at 10.30 am.

Earlier, it was reported that Dinesh suffered a cardiac arrest on Sunday, following which he was later admitted to the hospital. Shetty later confirmed that it was not cardiac arrest but liver damage.

Dinesh became a household name after playing the role of Fredericks in one of the longest running TV show ‘CID’, which first aired in 1998 and ran for twenty years on Sony TV. He also made small appearances on the popular sitcom Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah movies like Super 30 and Sarfarosh.
