CID Season 2 Brings Back All The Feels: Shraddha Musale Aka Dr. Tarika To Return After Janvi Cheda?

With the return of Dr. Tarika CID Season 2 re-energizes its loyal fanbase, embracing character comebacks and plot developments.

To the delight of its passionate fan base, the halls of justice in CID Season 2 are once again buzzing with familiar characters and a renewed sense of purpose. The beloved crime series has found its rhythm in bringing back its most cherished characters after earlier turmoil both on and off screen. This has stirred excitement and nostalgia on social media.

The latest rumours highlight Shraddha Musale’s confirmed return as the sharp Dr. Tarika, the assistant to the legendary Dr. Salunkhe. Musale is reportedly rejoining the CID world. She is a fan favourite known for her keen forensic insights and strong chemistry with Senior Inspector Abhijeet (Aditya Srivastava). Social media is buzzing after GosspisTV on X reported her return and shared a photo from the set. One user expressed what many feel when they wrote, “I am so happy and excited for Dr. Tarika’s entry into the show.” Musale was a staple on the original CID from 2007 to 2018. Her diverse television career, which includes roles in Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii and Mile Jab Hum Tum, has showcased her talent.

Janvi Chheda’s return as Inspector Shreya follows closely behind this exciting news. In an emotional post on Instagram from her vanity van, Chheda, whose character was known for her strong presence and close bond with the team, especially with Senior Inspector Daya, announced her comeback. “To new beginnings. Or rather, picking up where I left off… Yeah, that’s more poetic!” she wrote, hinting at her enthusiasm for returning.

For its loyal audience, the current season of CID has been quite a journey. Initially, it faced significant criticism after the shocking on-screen death of ACP Pradyuman (Shivaji Satam) in a bomb blast and his replacement by Parth Samthaan as ACP Ayushmaan. Fans quickly applauded the decision to reverse this move and bring back Satam in his iconic role after an outcry from viewers. The team has since confirmed Parth Samthaan’s brief but impactful stint with a heartfelt farewell.

Nonetheless, the show continues to surprise its viewers with twists that intrigue fans. For example, recently out of nowhere, Narendra Gupta, who portrays the respected Dr. Salunkhe, bowed out of the role and exited the series completely. After being characterized as a traitor, Dr. Salunkhe had been slacked apparently, with many fans feeling disheartened and critiquing the direction of the series at that stage. Dr. Tarika’s return is even more important now, as we can speculate that she could appear as the next forensic lead.

The inclusion of Dr. Tarika and Inspector Shreya expands the CID ensemble cast which already includes returning leads Shivaji Satam, Aditya Srivastava, Dayanand Shetty, Narendra Gupta and Hrishikesh Pandey.

CID Season 2 airs Saturday and Sunday at 10 PM on Sony TV and it is also available for streaming on Netflix and Sony LIV.
