Vicky Kaushal’s much-awaited film Chhaava is making waves at the box office, winning hearts and shattering records along the way. Based on the life of Maratha King Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, Chhaava also stars Rashmika Mandanna and Akshaye Khanna in the lead roles. The movie has also been performing exceptionally well at the box office.
A Record-Breaking Opening Weekend
Chhaava opened with a massive ₹31 crore on Friday, making it the highest-opening film ever released on Valentine’s Day, surpassing Gully Boy (₹19.40 crore). The momentum only grew stronger over the weekend, with the film collecting ₹37 crore on Saturday and ₹48.5 crore on Sunday, setting new benchmarks in the historical drama genre.

According to Scanilk, Chhaava collected an impressive ₹24 crore net on its first Monday, bringing its total box office earnings to ₹140.50 crore net and making it one of the highest-grossing films of 2025. The film has maintained a strong hold even on weekdays, which means it has received a lot of love from its audiences.

The movie also stars Ashutosh Rana, Divya Dutta, Vineet Kumar Singh, Diana Penty, and Santosh Juvekar in pivotal roles. It is produced By Dinesh Vijan under the banner Maddock Films and co-produced by Sharada Karki Jalota and Pooja Prem Patheja. Meanwhile, the screenplay is done by Laxman Utekar, Rishi Virmani, Kaustubh Savarkar, Unman Bankar and Omkar Mahajan.
Chhaava has become the biggest solo opener of Vicky Kaushal’s career. It has far outperformed his previous hits, with his last highest opener collecting ₹8.62 crore, while ‘Uri’ had an opening of ₹8.20 crore. With this, Chhaava has set a new benchmark for the actor.
