It premiered in Japan on September 19, 2025, and will release in select Asian countries on September 24.

The film has been cleared by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) without any cuts and carries an A certificate. With a runtime of 102 minutes (1 hour 42 minutes), the movie promises an uncut anime experience for fans.

India Release Date

Indian audiences can catch the movie in Japanese and Hindi starting September 26, 2025.

Plot

Denji has become ‘Chainsaw Man,’ a boy with a devil’s heart, and now works with Special Division 4 as a devil hunter. After going on a movie date with Makima, the girl he likes, he takes shelter from the rain and meets Reze, a girl who works at a café.

Based on an original story by Tatsuki Fujimoto, the voice cast features Kikunosuke Toya as Denji, Shiori Izawa as Pochita, Tomori Kusunoki as Makima, Shogo Sakata as Aki, Fairouz Ai as Power, Karin Takahashi as Kobeni, Natsuki Hanae as Beam, Yuuya Uchida as The Violence Fiend, Maaya Uchida as Angel Devil, and Reina Ueda as Reze.

The movie is a direct follow up to the first season of the anime series. It is produced by MAPPA, directed by Tatsuya Yoshihara, and the script is written by Hiroshi Seko.

On its opening day in Japan, the film sold over 272,000 tickets, earning more than ¥420 million (around US$2.8 million). It debuted at number one at the Japanese box office, selling 807,000 tickets and making ¥1.251 billion (about US$8.46 million) over its opening weekend, surpassing the nine week record previously held by Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle.
