According to the website Sacnilk, Captain American Brave New World collected Rs 4.3 crore on day 1. The Marvel movies are usually expected to open with higher numbers but Captain American Brave New World is affected due to its mixed response and the buzz around Chhaava in India.
According to the official website of Marvel, the synopsis of Captain America Brave New World reads, “Anthony Mackie returns as the high-flying hero Sam Wilson, who’s officially taken up the mantle of Captain America. After meeting with newly elected U.S. President Thaddeus Ross, Sam finds himself in the middle of an international incident. He must discover the reason behind a nefarious global plot before the true mastermind has the entire world seeing red.”
In India, fans expressed their surprise when one of the character seemed to be inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. While speaking to ETimes, director Julius Onah addressed the speculations of the character being designed after PM Modi. He said, “It’s not designed to copy any real-world figures. Everything is in service of making the best movie and telling the most entertaining story possible. And I’m thrilled that I was able to do that with Anthony, Harrison, and this entire crew.”
