New Delhi: Ayan Mukerji’s film ‘Brahmastra part One Shiva’ has become the highest-grossing film of the year at the domestic box office, earning a whopping Rs 23.12 crore on its third weekend. The movie’s collection in India alone has crossed the Rs 253 crore mark.

This is the best grossing of any Hindi movie released this year. Earlier, the movie ‘Kashmir files’, which was released on March 11, earned Rs 252.90 crore at the domestic box office after being in theatres for seven weeks. The worldwide collection of the movie ‘Brahmastra’ crossed the Rs 400 crore mark on Sunday.

Box office collection on the third weekend 

Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt starrer ‘Brahmastra part One Shiva’ earned Rs 124.49 crore on the first weekend. On the second weekend, the movie earned Rs 42.03 crore. Meanwhile, on the third weekend, the film earned a whopping Rs 23.12 crores, taking benefit of the National Cinema Day celebrated on Friday.

Domestic box office collection

First two weeks: Rs 230.65 crore

Third Friday: Rs 10.79 crore

3rd Saturday: Rs 6.03 crore

Third Sunday: Rs 6.30 crore 

Net worth on its 17th-day release: Rs 253.76 crore 

The film has now become the highest-grossing film of the year. 

Tickets at Rs 100 from Monday

Taking a lesson from the film Brahmastra, it has gained lots of benefit of Rs 75 tickets sold at decreased fees on National Cinema Day on Friday, the filmmakers and distributors have now decided to sell the ticket of Rs 100 for the first 4 days of Navratri. With this decision, the makers of the movie ‘Dhokha Round The Corner’ have also decided to show their film for the next four days for Rs 100. 

Tough competition from Friday

Ayan Mukerji’s directorial has a chance of earning one-sided at the box office for four days now. Its first massive competition might be with Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan starrer ‘Vikram Vedha’ to be released on September 30 and Tamil mega budget film ‘PS1’, which is also dubbed in Hindi. The global collection of the movie ‘Brahmastra part One Shiva’ additionally crossed the Rs 400 crore mark on Sunday.
