On the occasion of India’s 79th Independence Day, the makers of Border 2 unveiled the film’s first poster along with the film’s official release date, giving audiences their first glimpse of the much anticipated war drama.
The poster features Sunny Deol dressed in military gear and gripping a bazooka with fierce intensity, Sunny stands tall as the embodiment of patriotism and raw emotion.
Sharing the poster on Instagram, Sunny captioned the image, “Hindustan ke liye ladenge….phir ek baar! 🇮🇳🔥 #Border2 hits theatres on Jan 22, 2026 #HappyIndependenceDay!”
The war drama will hit theatres on January 22, 2026, ahead of Republic Day.

Speaking about the moment, producer Bhushan Kumar said: “Border is more than a film it’s an emotion for every Indian. With Border 2, we aim to carry forward that legacy and bring it to a new generation. The new release date gives audiences more time to come together and experience the film in theatres during an extended Republic Day weekend.”
Producer Nidhi Dutta added that the first Border was a heartfelt salute to our armed forces. “With the new release date, we are happy to bring the film to cinemas sooner, allowing audiences to enjoy a longer Republic Day weekend,” she added.
About Border 2
Directed by Anurag Singh, Border 2 is the long-awaited sequel to the 1997 cult classic Border. The film stars Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, and Ahan Shetty alongside Diljit Dosanjh. The ensemble cast also features Medha Rana, Mona Singh and Sonam Bajwa with production by Bhushan Kumar and JP Dutta.
