This action follows an initial proactive complaint made to the Mumbai Police on September 23, 2024, well before any formal allegations were made against the company. The FIR calls for an investigation into unauthorized ticket resales by individuals and platforms.

The spokesperson elaborated that BookMyShow has shared information about all resellers identified, including individuals selling tickets on social media platforms like Instagram and WhatsApp, as well as on digital platforms like Viagogo and Stubhub. Additionally, BookMyShow is considering canceling tickets sold through unethical channels.
