BookMyShow, which holds exclusive rights to sell tickets for the Coldplay India Tour, has formally complained against various digital platforms that are unlawfully selling concert tickets. A spokesperson for BookMyShow stated that tickets sold through unethical means might face cancellation.

Ongoing Efforts Against Ticket Scalping

As reported by News 18, in an effort to combat ticket scalping and black market sales for Coldplay’s “Music Of The Spheres World Tour 2025” in India, BookMyShow filed a First Information Report (FIR) on October 2, 2024. This action follows an initial proactive complaint made to the Mumbai Police on September 23, 2024, well before any formal allegations were made against the company. The FIR calls for an investigation into unauthorized ticket resales by individuals and platforms.

The spokesperson noted that BookMyShow has been cooperating fully with police and regulatory authorities throughout the investigation, ensuring transparency and providing necessary information to the Economic Offences Wing (EOW).

High Demand for Tickets

With 13 million fans eager to secure tickets, excitement peaked on September 22, 2024. The company remains committed to ensuring a fair and genuine experience for all consumers.

Concert Details

Coldplay, the iconic British band, is set to perform in India after an eight-year hiatus, with concerts scheduled in Mumbai on January 18, 19, and 21, 2025. Original ticket prices ranged from ₹2,500 to ₹35,000, but unauthorized resellers have been offering tickets at inflated prices, reaching between ₹35,000 and ₹3 lakh or more on platforms like Viagogo.
