Boney Kapoor Issues Official Statement After Mother Nirmal Kapoor’s Demise: ‘She Will Remain In Our Hearts’

Nirmal Kapoor celebrated her 90th birthday i September 2024. She married Surinder Kapoor, late veteran film producer, in 1955.

Nirmal Kapoor, mother of actor Anil Kapoor and filmmaker Boney Kapoor, passed away on May 2, 2025, at the age of 90 due to age related issues. After her demise, her family members and other loved ones gathered together to pay their last respects. The Kapoor family has issued their first statement after Nirmal Kapoor’s death and shared how she lived a full and joyful life.

The statement read, “Passed away peacefully on the 2nd of May, 2025, surrounded by her beloved family. She lived a full and joyful life, leaving behind four devoted children, loving daughters-in-law, a caring son-in-law, eleven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and a lifetime of treasured memories.”

It added, “Her generous spirit and boundless love touched all who knew her. She will remain in our hearts–forever cherished, forever missed. Boney, Anil, Reena, Sanjay, Sunita, Sandeep, Maheep, Mohit, Akshay, Sonam, Arjun, Rhea, Harshvarrdhan, Anshula, Janhvi, Shanaya, Khushi, Jahaan, Antara, Anand, Aashita, Karan Thea, Vayu, Ayra, Yuvaan.”

Nirmal Kapoor married Surinder Kapoor, late veteran film producer, in 1955. She remained away from the spotlight most of her life, whereas, her children Anil, Boney and Sanjay went on to become a big part of the Indian film industry. She celebrated her 90th birthday in September 2024.
