The Tamil sports action drama ‘Bison Kaalamaadan’, directed by Mari Selvaraj and starring Dhruv Vikram as lead is now streaming on OTT after its fantastic theatrical run. Jointly produced by Sameer Nair, Deepak Seigal, Pa. Ranjith, and Aditi Anand under Applause Entertainment and Neelam Studios, the film is based on the life of kabaddi player Manathi Ganesan.
It tells the story of a man who fights against caste based discrimination while pursuing his dream of excelling in kabaddi.

Plot
Kittan Velusamy grows up in a small Tamil Nadu village where caste discrimination and constant fights between local leaders control everyday life. All he wants is to play kabaddi, but his dreams clash with violence, family pressure especially from his strict father and powerful men who want to keep people like him down.
Things change when coach Kandeeban recognises Kittan’s raw talent and teaches him how to channel his anger into the sport. Even after being insulted, beaten, and reminded of his place in society, Kittan refuses to give up. With his sister Raaji supporting him through every setback, he slowly rises above the chaos around him.
By fighting through injustice and fear, Kittan becomes “Bison,” a symbol of strength, and eventually earns his place as a national kabaddi player representing India at the Asian Games.

This film was released in cinemas on October 17, 2025 and resulted as the commercial success with grossing over Rs. 45 Cr domestically within 25 days and Rs. 55 Cr worldwide in just 10 days.
In India, Bison was released along with Dude and Diesel. It earned Rs 2.30 crore (about US$270,000) on its opening day, making it the second biggest opener among the three films.
