Who is Farhana Bhatt?

Growing up in a conservative family, Farhana often had to keep her ambitions a secret. Acting was not considered a “safe” or “respectable” career where she came from, but she couldn’t ignore the pull of the stage and the camera. With her mother and grandfather quietly supporting her, she began sneaking out for auditions, holding on to the hope that one day the world would see her talent.

Education and First Break

Farhana studies Mass Communication and Journalism in Srinagar and initially thought of becoming a news anchor. But her love for acting pushed her to Mumbai, where she joined Anupam Kher’s Actor Prepares to learn the craft.
In 2016, she landed her first film, Sunshine Music Tours and Travels. But it was her role as Jasmeet in Imtiaz Ali’s Laila Majnu (2018) that really put her on the map. She later appeared in Notebook (2019). The Country of Blind (2023), The Country of Blind (2023), and Disney+ Hotstar’s thriller series The Freelancer.

More Than just an actress
What makes Farhana’s journey even more remarkable is that she’s not only an actress, but she’s also a five-time national gold medalist in Taekwondo and a trained dancer. She has featured in popular music videos, walked runways, and even represented Kashmir on international platforms like the G20 youth events.
