New Delhi: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and actress Sonali Phogat died of a heart attack on Monday night in Goa. The 41-year-old had travelled to Goa with a few of her crew members for a photo shoot. Sonali posted a video from her official Instagram account hours before her death, wearing a pink dupatta as a head wrap with Mohammad Rafi’s song ‘Rukh se jara naqab toh hata do mere hazoor…’ playing in the background. She also changed her Twitter profile picture to match.

The news of her demise was confirmed by Goa DGP Jaspal Singh. Capt Bhupender, district president of the Hisar BJP told PTI, “Sonali ji was in Goa. I spoke to her assistant and he said that she died of a heart attack”. It was not immediately clear as to when she died.

In 2016, Sonali Phogat made her acting debut with the TV show ‘Amma: Ek Maa Jo Laakhon Ke Liye Bani Amma’. She was also a part of the web series, ‘The Story Of Badmashgarh’ in 2019. Her TikTok videos were also quite popular among netizens. Sonali became a household name with her appearance in Bigg Boss 14.
