Previously, in April, the makers of Pushpa 2 released a three-minute-15-second teaser of the upcoming action-packed film on the occasion of Allu Arjun’s birthday. The teaser depicted Pushpa getting severely injured while attempting to escape from Tirupati prison, leading to riots as rumors of his death spread. As the police launch a massive manhunt, a CCTV camera captures Pushpa deep inside the forest, scaring away a tiger.
The Pushpa franchise, starring Allu Arjun, is set in the Seshachalam forests in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh, and narrates Pushpa Raj’s journey from a humble laborer to a formidable sandalwood smuggler.
Allu Arjun, who received the National Film Award for Best Actor for his portrayal of Pushpa Raj, reprises his role in the sequel. Malayalam actor Fahadh Faasil returns as the antagonist, SP Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat IPS, and Rashmika Mandanna plays the role of Sri Valli, Pushpa Raj’s love interest-turned-wife.
Directed by Sukumar, Pushpa 2 boasts an ensemble cast that includes Jagadeesh Prathap Bandari, Sunil, Prakash Raj, Jagapati Babu, Rao Ramesh, Anasuya Bharadwaj, and Dhananjaya.
