Bhediya, a werewolf drama starring Kriti Sanon and Varun Dhawan, is directed by Amar Kaushik, who brought back the horror-comedy genre after Stree (2018). The film had a respectable day 1 start. On its first day, it earned more than Rs 12 crore in worldwide box office receipts. The movie made Rs. 11 crores on its first Sunday in theatres, breaking the double-digit earnings barrier. As a result, the total amount collected is Rs 28.05 crore. On the first Sunday, there was a 28–32% occupancy rate in the morning.
Meanwhile, Box Office India reported, “Bhediya showed good growth in mass pockets on Sunday but these places had to jump 50% plus due to low numbers on the first two days and this is always possible in Sunday in mass circuits but Bhediya growth is more like 25-30% which is good but not good enough.”
“The overall growth for the film will be 15-20% as the metros and mini metros where the film is better have limited growth on Sunday which is the norm. The collections of the film are in the 10.75-11 crore nett range on Sunday which takes the film to a 27 crore nett weekend,” it further stated.
Amar Kaushik and Dinesh Vijan are the directors and producers of the comedy-horror movie Bhediya. Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon play key roles in the movie. After Dilwale, this is Kriti’s second movie with Varun (2015). Bhediya is the third film in Vijan’s horror-comedy series. On November 25, it premiered in theatres.
The plot of Bhediya, which is set in Arunachal Pradesh, centres on a young guy named Bhaskar who suffers a wolf bite while foraging for food. He eventually begins to change into a werewolf as well. The lyrics of the movie were written by Amitabh Bhattacharya, and Sachin-Jigar composed the music.
