Apoorva Mukhija, better known as Rebel Kid, has once again found herself in the middle of online drama. Known for her quirky digital content, Prime Video’s The Traitors, and her appearance in Nadaaniyan, Apoorva is now facing a double storm a public fallout with fellow influencer Sufi Motiwala and explosive allegations from her ex-boyfriend Utsav Dahiya.
On August 17, Utsav posted a video on Instagram featuring a song he wrote, directly addressing the speculations about their breakup. In the track, he claimed Apoorva cheated on him and later wanted to reconcile for content. He also alleged that she called him “ghatiya” publicly to gain more followers and engagement.
Along with the song, Utsav wrote a fiery caption, “Ab agar koi aur bakwaas kari toh main seedha receipts nikalunga. Never try to gain sympathy by fabricating lies or pushing false narratives just to make content and assassinate someone’s character online. Having a big following doesn’t give you the right to bully your way by rage-baiting your audience and unleashing them on others.”
He added, “When I was being falsely painted as a cheat and an abuser because of things you said, I reached out to you and your agency, hoping to find a way to deal with the hate. Instead, I was told, “You’re a nobody, you should be happy you got to date her.” So here’s a message from that ‘nobody’: you tried your level best (and I won’t lie, it wasn’t easy), but I’m still here, still standing. That should tell you something: your big numbers only matter on an app. There’s a real and much bigger world outside – beyond lies and kalesh.”
He concluded by saying, “Truth doesn’t need ‘followers’, it stands on its own. Toh tum chalao apna ghar kalesh se, but kisi ke baare mein jhoot bolna band karo. Baki logo ko life mein dhanke kaam karne do. Grow up, kid.” The post has gone viral across social media, meanwhile, Apoorva has not responded to either the fallout with Sufi or the accusations from Utsav.
The two dated in early 2023 before confirming their breakup on January 31. Since then, Apoorva has repeatedly hinted at a “toxic ex” who allegedly cheated and abused her though she never named Utsav directly, her pointed jabs drew hate toward him.
Rift With Sufi Motiwala
Apoorva and Sufi bonded during The Traitors earlier this year. They often featured in each other’s Instagram content. However, followers noticed that by the time Netflix invited them to Sydney for Wednesday 2 promotions, the two avoided tagging each other fuelling rumours of a fallout.
On August 17, Sufi broke his silence on Instagram Stories, writing, “No more lies. I’ve received a lot of texts saying that I’ve taken clout from Apoorva, and I’ve left her. I’ve literally never collaborated on a reel with her and have been on her YouTube twice, both of which were her content pieces entirely.”
Currently, both Sufi and fellow influencer Rida Tharana have unfollowed Apoorva on Instagram.
