New Delhi: Beyonce made history by earning the most Grammy awards ever. With 32 wins at the 65th Grammy Awards, Queen Bey has officially won the most awards at the Grammys. She had received 28 of these prized accolades up until Thursday, February 6 (IST), when she took home four more at the prestigious awards ceremony held at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, California.

With her 32nd Grammy for her album Renaissance in the best dance/electronic album category, Beyonce set a new record for most victories. She had previously tied George Solti for the best R&B song award after winning her 31st prize for her song Cuff It. Prior to his departure the following year, Solti had already established the record when he received his final honour for the greatest opera recording in 1997.

Beyonce gave an emotional speech on stage while accepting her 32nd Grammy. She said, “I’m trying not to be too emotional and I’m trying to just receive this night.”

The singer continued, “I want to thank God for protecting me. … I’d like to thank my uncle Johnny, who’s not here, but he’s here in spirit.” She also thanked her parents, her husband, and their three children. In conclusion, she added, “I’d like to thank the queer community for your love and for inventing this genre.”

During the non-televised Premiere ceremony, Beyonce won two Grammy awards. The best dance/electronic recording went to Break My Soul from Renaissance. Her other song, Plastic Off the Sofa, got the award for the best classic R&B performance.

Queen Bey had not yet arrived at the award presentation site when she received her 31st Grammy for Cuff It. The host, Trevor Noah, made a joke about the LA traffic and said, “Beyoncé is on her way.” There are still three categories in which Beyonce is nominated for a 2023 Grammy.
