Batman Forever Star Val Kilmer Passes Away At 65 After Battling Cancer

Val Kilmer, known for his roles in Top Gun and Batman Forever, died at 65 due to cancer.

Hollywood star Val Kilmer passed away at the age of 65 after his long battle with cancer. According to the New York Times, he was diagnosed with throat cancer in 2014 and later recovered. His daughter Mercedes Kilmer said that the cause of his demise was pneumonia.

He was best known for his roles in Top Secret, Ton Gun, Real Genius, The Doors, Batman Forever, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, The Snowman and several others.

Van made his actind debut with his film ‘Top Secret!’ in which he played role of Nick Rivers. In 1986, he starred in Top Gun with Tom Cruise and gained fan following. He played the titular role in Batman Forever in 1995. He was last seen in Top Gun: Maverick in 2022, which was also his final film appearance.

In 2021, he appeared in documentary ‘Val’ which was made on his life and career. The movie premiere at the Cannes Film Festival and had limited release in theatres. It is streaming on Prime Video. The film also showed his battle with throat cancer.
