From the cast and crew to the audience, everyone had high hopes from Varun Dhawan and Keerthy Suresh starrer Baby John, which is the remake of Tamil film Theri. As a result, the action-thriller opened on a decent note and collected Rs 11.25 crore on Day 1, which was a Wednesday. However, numbers dropped drastically in the coming days.
The very next day, the box office collection fell down by -57 per cent and collected only Rs 4.75 crore. It was followed by Rs 3.65 crore on Friday, which was again disappointing for everyone, reported Sacnilk.
Day 4 Collection
On Day 4, which was also the first Saturday since the film’s release, the film earned Rs 4.25 crore, taking the overall collection to Rs 23.90 crore. This is slightly better than the last two days, giving hopes that the film will recover its cost on the weekend.
The film had an overall 14.64 per cent Hindi occupancy on Saturday. It had 7.14 per cent occupancy in the morning shows, 15.38 per cent occupancy in the afternoon shows, 14.87 per cent occupancy in the evening shows and 21.18 per cent occupancy in the night shows.
The film witnessed a moderate turnout on Saturday, with an overall Hindi occupancy of 14.87%. While morning shows recorded 7.14% bookings, the afternoon shows had 15.38% and evening shows had 21.8% occupancy. Most business for the film came from metropolitan cities such as Chennai, Jaipur, Bengaluru and Mumbai.

The movie was reportedly made on a budget of Rs 160 crore including all-inclusive cost and advertising cost. It is inspired by Tamil action thriller Theri, which was a big hit down south. The plot revolves around a DCP, played by Varun, who goes undercover to protect his daughter from enemies.
The movie also features Keerthy Suresh, Wamiqa Gabbi, Jackie Shroff, Rajpal Yadav and Sheeba Chaddha in key roles. Salman Khan’s special appearance in the movie, adds to the swag and also la.
