On Friday, September 5, two Bollywood films and two Hollywood titles clashed at the Indian box office. While Tiger Shroff and Sanjay Dutt’s action thriller Baaghi 4 released alongside Vivek Agnihotri’s political drama The Bengal Files, Hollywood brought in the horror flick The Conjuring: Last Rites and another big international release.
Despite low pre-release hype and mixed audience reactions, Baaghi 4 managed to mint more money than The Bengal Files. Now, as the weekday run begins, both films are showing how well they can hold up after their initial buzz.
Baaghi 4 Box Office Collection Day 4:
Baaghi 4 opened strongly at the box office, collecting Rs 12 crore on Day 1 (Friday). On its second day, the film saw a dip of nearly 23%, earning Rs 9.25 crore on Saturday. However, the action entertainer picked up again on Day 3 (Sunday) with collections of Rs 10 crore, marking an 8% growth compared to the previous day. As expected, Day 4 (Monday) witnessed a sharp drop, with the film managing around Rs 4.25 crore (early estimates). This takes the total four day collection to Rs 35.50 crore at the domestic box office.
About Baaghi 4
Directed by Kannada filmmaker A Harsha, Baaghi 4 marks his Bollywood debut and is slated to release on September 5, 2025. The film will also face competition at the box office, clashing with Vivek Agnihotri’s The Bengal Files.
The Baaghi franchise began in 2016 with Tiger Shroff and Shraddha Kapoor, and although parts 1 and 2 were commercial hits, Baaghi 3 received a lukewarm response due to the pandemic’s impact on theatres.
The Bengal Files Box Office Collection Day 4:
The Bengal Files had a modest start at the box office, earning Rs 1.75 crore on Day 1 (Friday). The film showed growth over the weekend, collecting Rs 2.25 crore on Day 2 (Saturday) with a 28% jump, followed by Rs 2.75 crore on Day 3 (Sunday), an increase of more than 22%. However, as expected, the numbers dropped onDay 4 (Monday), bringing in around Rs 1.10 crore (early estimates). With this, the film’s total four day collection stands at Rs 7.85 crore at the domestic box office.
The film’s release was surrounded by controversy, especially in West Bengal. At the Kolkata launch, the trailer was not played, and reports say no theatres in the state screened the movie. Director Vivek Agnihotri alleged that theatre owners were pressured to avoid showing it. Actress Pallavi Joshi took the matter further, writing an open letter to the President of India, calling it an “unofficial ban,” even though the censor board had raised no objections.
