On Friday, September 5, two Bollywood films and two Hollywood titles clashed at the Indian box office. While Tiger Shroff and Sanjay Dutt’s action thriller Baaghi 4 released alongside Vivek Agnihotri’s political drama The Bengal Files, Hollywood brought in the horror flick The Conjuring: Last Rites and another big international release.
Despite low pre-release hype and mixed audience reactions, Baaghi 4 managed to mint more money than The Bengal Files. See how both the films performed at its opening weekend.
Baaghi 4 Box Office Collection Day 3:
Baaghi 4 opened on a strong note at the box office, collecting Rs 12 crore on Day 1 (Friday). However, the film saw a dip on its second day, earning Rs 9.25 crore on Day 2 (Saturday), marking a 22.92% drop. The momentum picked up slightly on Day 3 (Sunday) with early estimates suggesting collections of around Rs 10 crore. With this, the total opening weekend collection of Baaghi 4 stands at Rs 31.25 crore.
About Baaghi 4
Directed by Kannada filmmaker A Harsha, Baaghi 4 marks his Bollywood debut and is slated to release on September 5, 2025. The film will also face competition at the box office, clashing with Vivek Agnihotri’s The Bengal Files.
The Baaghi franchise began in 2016 with Tiger Shroff and Shraddha Kapoor, and although parts 1 and 2 were commercial hits, Baaghi 3 received a lukewarm response due to the pandemic’s impact on theatres.
The Bengal Files Box Office Collection Day 3:
The Bengal Files had a modest start at the box office, collecting Rs 1.75 crore on Day 1 (Friday). The film witnessed growth on its second day, earning Rs 2.15 crore on Day 2 (Saturday), a jump of 22.86%. Early estimates suggest that it further picked up on Day 3 (Sunday) with Rs 2.75 crore. With this, the film’s opening weekend total stands at Rs 6.65 crore.
The film’s release was surrounded by controversy, especially in West Bengal. At the Kolkata launch, the trailer was not played, and reports say no theatres in the state screened the movie. Director Vivek Agnihotri alleged that theatre owners were pressured to avoid showing it. Actress Pallavi Joshi took the matter further, writing an open letter to the President of India, calling it an “unofficial ban,” even though the censor board had raised no objections.
