Here’s a good news for Chris Evans Fans! The popular marvel actor will return to the cinematic universe with the upcoming film Avenger: Doomsday, which will also bring back Robert Downey Jr as Doctor Doom. The project is directed by Evans long-time collaborators Russo Brothers, reported The Wrap. The news was later confirmed by The Hollywood Reporter.
Details about Evans role and extent of his involvement in the film is still unknown as the new Marvel feature project revolves around multiple timelines and universes. The movie is also expected to bring together several other actors from the previous films as well as current ones i.e. Fantastic Four.
Chris Evans is renowned for his iconic portrayal of Steve Rogers/Captain America in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), a role that cemented his status as a cornerstone of the franchise. Additionally, he reprised his role as Johnny Storm/The Human Torch in the Deadpool & Wolverine crossover, a character he originally played in the Fox-produced Fantastic Four films in the 2000s.
In an interview given to GQ in 2023, he opened about the idea of retuning to the universe and said, “I wouldn’t want the black eye if it felt like a cash grab or if it didn’t live up to expectations or if it just felt like it wasn’t connected to that original thing.”

Evans turned down the iconic role of Captain America multiple times, before finally agreeing to it in 2011. He bagged the role after defeating beating popular names including John Krasinski, Garrett Hedlund, Michael Cassidy, Patrick Flueger, Scott Porter, Wilson Bethel, Mike Vogel and Chace Crawford.
His first appearance as Captain America was in the Captain America: The First Avenger, which made him a star. He then went on to feature in The Avengers (2012), Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014), Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015), Captain America: Civil War (2016) Avengers: Infinity War (2018) and Endgame. He also did cameos in Thor: The Dark World (2013) and Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017).
Before leaving the universe, Evans shared a gratitude message o the last day of filming Endgame in 2018. The tweet read, “It was an emotional day to say the least. Playing this role over the last 8 years has been an honor. To everyone in front of the camera, behind the camera, and in the audience, thank you for the memories! Eternally grateful.”
