New Delhi: The sequel to the 2009 hit Avatar finally hit the theatres on December 16. Avatar The Way of Water opened up with an outstanding number of around Rs 41 crore, and is expected to have scored another big total on its second day.

Well, on day 2, Avatar The Way of Water crossed approx Rs 1500 crore worldwide. According to Box Office India, James Cameron’s science fiction movie is expected to see a 5–10% increase in revenue. If the South markets perform well, the amount may even be higher. Particularly in Andhra Pradesh and Kerala, Avatar amassed enormous numbers.
In the Indian market, Avatar 2 had the second-highest opening weekend. The first was the 2019 movie Avengers: Endgame, which made Rs 53.10 crore on opening day. Avatar 2 ended Day 2 with sales between Rs. 44 and Rs. 46 crore, according to preliminary statistics. Its Day 1 collection has increased significantly. Thus, the overall sum is currently close to Rs 100 crore.
About the movie
One of James Cameron’s most eagerly awaited science fiction films is Avatar: The Way of Water. The Sully family, which consists of Jake, Neytiri, and their children, is followed throughout the movie. The scenario is based on how Sullys responds to Quaritch and his tribe attacking them in Steven Lang’s novel. The focus of the sequel is mainly on preserving families and focusing on interpersonal ties.
Leading actors in the movie include Sam Worthington, Sigourney Weaver, Zoe Saldana, and Kate Winslet.
