New Delhi: James Cameron’s Avatar 2 is finally out in theaters, and as predicted, early screenings are receiving enthusiastic reviews. Advance booking trends made it very evident that the box office was on fire. Even though everything is going in its favour, the movie narrowly missed out on overtaking Spider-Man: No Way Home in day one advance ticket sales.
On December 15, Koimoi revealed that the movie had outperformed Thor: Love And Thunder’s Indian opening day advance booking stats. In the same vein, we anticipated that Spider-Man: No Way Home and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will also cross. The Tom Holland-starring Avatar: The Way Of Water, however, fell just short.
Avatar 2 made 21.10 crores in India according to the closing data provided by Koimoi (before the first show begins). Although it already exceeded that goal, Spider-Man: No Way Home’s 22 crores profit was narrowly missed. Nevertheless, the James Cameron-directed film is positioned for a record-breaking opening weekend in India.
Regarding the number of screens, Avatar 2 is the largest opening for a Hollywood movie in this country, playing on over 3800 screens nationwide.
James Cameron recently urged viewers not to “whine” about Avatar: The Way of Water’s length. The 68-year-old filmmaker believes that since so many TV viewers are eager to binge-watch the entire series in one sitting, no one should be upset about its 3 hour and 10 minute running length. During an interview with Empire magazine, he mentioned it.
About Avatar: The Way of Water
One of James Cameron’s most eagerly awaited science fiction films is Avatar: The Way of Water. The Sully family, which consists of Jake, Neytiri, and their children, is followed throughout the movie. The scenario is based on how Sullys responds to Quaritch and his tribe attacking them in Steven Lang’s novel. The focus of the sequel is mainly on preserving families and focusing on interpersonal ties.
Leading actors in the movie include Sam Worthington, Sigourney Weaver, Zoe Saldana, and Kate Winslet.
