Arijit Singh performed at London’s Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on September 5. The historic night marked him as the first Indian artist to headline a UK stadium, with thousands turning up to hear his soulful playlist that included Saiyaara, Jhoome Jo Pathaan, Rasiya, Ami Je Tomar, and Sapphire.
The concert went on for more than two hours, but it ended suddenly at 10:30 pm when the authorities cut off the power because of curfew rules. Videos on social media showed Arijit singing Deva Deva from Brahmastra when the music stopped all of a sudden, leaving fans shocked as fireworks went off in the background.
Fans said Arijit asked for 20 more minutes to wrap up the show, but the power was turned off before he could say goodbye. Another video showed the stadium in darkness, with upset fans walking out after the show ended without a proper farewell.
A fan shared a video on X that showed a dark stage with no music, as almost all the stadium lights were turned off. The crowd was seen walking out of the venue. “London stadium allegedly cut power at Arijit Singh’s show without letting him say goodbye or finish the song due to curfew time of 10:30 pm,” read the caption.
