Rumours have been circulating that cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal and choreographer Dhanashree Verma’s divorce has been finalised. However, Dhanashree’s lawyer, Aditi Mohoni, has denied these reports, stating that the matter is still sub judice and not concluded yet.
“I have no comments to make on the proceedings, as the matter is currently sub judice. The media should fact-check before reporting, as a lot of misleading information is being circulated,” Aditi stated in an official press release on Friday.
Family Dismisses Alimony Reports
Adding to the controversy, a family member from the Dhanashree side called the reports of alimony claims “baseless”. Expressing disappointment over the viral rumours, they urged people to avoid spreading false information.
“We are deeply outraged by the baseless claims regarding the alimony figure. No such amount has ever been asked, demanded, or offered. Publishing unverified reports only causes harm, dragging both families into unnecessary speculation. We request the media to fact-check before spreading misinformation and to respect everyone’s privacy,” the statement read.
Court Proceedings & Counselling Session
According to reports, the couple attended a legal session at Bandra Family Court on Thursday. They were reportedly asked to undergo a 45-minute counselling session, during which they informed the judge that they were seeking a divorce due to “compatibility issues”. Sources claim that Yuzvendra and Dhanashree have been living separately for the past 18 months.
Amidst the ongoing reports, both Chahal- and Dhanashree shared cryptic posts on Instagram. Chahal wrote, “God has protected me more times than I can count. So I can only imagine the times I’ve been rescued that I don’t even know about. Thank you, God, for always being there, even when I don’t know it. Amen.”
