New Delhi: Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap said he felt guilty asking actors like Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Vicky Kaushal to shoot his movies now and the reason was that the two actors have now become big stars.
However, he said, they agreed to work with him for free when he asked. Anurag, in an interview with Zoom Entertainment, said he did not want to abuse this privilege with them, even though he knew they would not say no to him.
He said Nawaz told him not to worry about money when he did Raman Raghav 2.0, and Vicky did not charge him a dime for a permanent appearance in Almost Pyaar with DJ Mohabbat.
Anurag’s films have provided a huge platform to both the actors as they try to make their mark. Kashyap had starred the two actors in films like “Gangs of Wasseypur” and “Masaan” that had given the most fame to Nawazuddin and Vicky Kaushal.
When it was pointed out that they would probably slash their fees for him, he said, “It’s a two-way thing. If I’m making a low-budget film, Vicky will come and do it for free, which is a burden for me. Of course, I feel guilty. He came, he gave me his dates, he charged me nothing.”
Vicky Kaushal had worked with Anurag Kashyap on several projects including “Manmarziyaan” also starring Tapsee Pannu and Abhishek Bachchan.
