Nag Ashwin’s Kalki 2898 AD pre-release event was held in Mumbai on Wednesday. While Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Kamal Haasan, and Rana Daggubati made the night memorable, one moment caught everyone’s attention – Amitabh Bachchan touching Aswini Dutt’s feet.
Amitabh Bachchan Honors Aswini Dutt By Touching His Feet
When producer Aswini came on stage, Amitabh spoke about him and said, “He owns Vyjayanthi Films with his two daughters (Swapna and Priyanka) and I have never met a simpler and humble person than Aswini. Every time on the sets, he is the first person there, he’ll pick you up at the airport and make sure you’re safe, nobody thinks like that.” Amitabh then said, “With all due respect” before touching the feet of Aswin, who also touched his feet back.

Ram Gopal Varma shared a screengrab on X (formerly Twitter) of the moment Amitabh Bachchan touched Aswini Dutt’s feet, writing, “This moment marks the pinnacle of achievement for ASHWINI DUTT, with AMITABH BACHCHAN showing such respect. Who Is Aswini Dutt?
Aswin owns one of the biggest production houses in Tollywood – Vyjayanthi Movies, which was established in 1974. He has three daughters – Swapna, Priyanka, and Sravanthi – and the first two also work with him under Swapna Cinema. Priyanka is married to Nag Ashwin who directed Kalki 2898 AD.
During his career, Aswini Dutt supported blockbusters featuring stars like NTR, ANR, Krishna, Sobhan Babu, Krishnam Raju, Chiranjeevi, Venkatesh, Balakrishna, Nagarjuna, Mahesh Babu, Allu Arjun, Jr. NTR and Ram Charan. After the backlash of 2011’s ‘Sakthi’, Aswini took a break but made a powerful comeback with the 2017 hit ‘Mahanati’.
Aswini Dutt’s production company Vyjayanthi Movies produced one of its best films in 1990, Jagadeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari, starring Chiranjeevi and Sridevi. This movie is also a personal favorite of Aswini Dutt.
