Amit Trivedi expressed his dissatisfaction at not being able to vote in the 2024 Lok Sabha Election. He went to Phase 5 of the Mumbai elections to exercise his right to vote. However, he later uploaded a video in which he mentioned that his name was absent from the voter list.
‘I went to vote today and as soon as I reached the booth, I showed them a receipt which had the booth number mentioned on it, ‘Akramank 1080′. The officer put a cross on it,’ Amit said in a video message shared on his Twitter account. ‘The officers standing outside handed the receipts to me. I had my Aadhar card and voter ID. I was informed that the number 1080 was not present in both cases and was advised to return to the location where I obtained the receipt to get it rectified.

‘Why didn’t you take the time to check online where @ECISVEEP has all your details listed? You can search by I.D. number or mobile number, which would have saved a lot of hassle,’ a user said. Someone else commented, ‘Why didn’t you use the @ECISVEEP website or app to verify your part number and serial number yourself? It is quite powerful and practical.’ Subsequently, Amit tweeted, ‘I have seen your replies here,’ in response to his tweet. To be clear, all of the web research and preparation was done beforehand. I was in the right booth with another family member, but she wasn’t allowed to vote.
