New Delhi: Following all the controversy surrounding her argument with her ex-husband, Johnny Depp, Amber Heard’s confirmation to reprise her role as Mera in Aquaman 2 is finally official. Given her assertions that Warner Bros. had reduced her role in the movie during court proceedings last year, the actress’ comeback in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom seems unexpected.
Amber Heard to be a part of Aquaman 2
Amber Heard’s participation in Aquaman 2 was made official on April 25 at CinemaCon, the yearly gathering for theatre owners, during a presentation by Warner Bros. According to Insider, the trailer includes two brief images of Heard, who portrayed Mera, Jason Momoa’s love interest in the smash 2018 original film Aquaman. She reportedly doesn’t speak in the caravan, though this has also been reported.
The remainder of the teaser showed Momoa’s character attempting to lead Atlantis while fending off zombies and his on-screen sibling Orm (played by Patrick Wilson). It is yet unknown how much screen time Heard will have in the finished version of the film, despite the fact that the actress has only appeared twice in the video.
The actress suffered loss worth $50 million
Additionally, Amber Heard’s lawyers have claimed that the Aquaman actor suffered a loss of almost $50 million. She is supposed to pay $10 million to Johnny Depp. Her team in the pre-trial documents claimed that she suffered financial losses in the $47-50 million range over a 3-5 year period. This happened due to Johnny’s defamatory claims against Amber, the lawyers claimed.
Johnny Depp and Amber Heard met on the sets of The Rum Diary in 2009 and started dating a few years later. Their divorce was finalised in 2017.
