All Indian Cine Workers’ Associations Writes To Amit Shah, Ashwini Vaishnaw Seeking Ban On ‘India’s Got Latent’

According to ANI, All Indian Cine Workers' Associations (AICWA) has written a letter to the Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, demanding a ban on the YouTube show 'India's Got Latent' and legal action against its creators.

Popular YouTube show India’s Got Latent’s episodes are having views in millions. One of the the episode in which popular YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia, Samay Raina, Ashish Chanchlani, social media influencer Apoorva Makhija made their appearance. Some of the comments made on this episode of Latent is getting massive backlash.

Due to this the video got removed from YouTube and the latent application. According to ANI, All Indian Cine Workers’ Associations (AICWA) has written a letter to the Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, demanding a ban on the YouTube show ‘India’s Got Latent’ and legal action against its creators.

According to the letter the association mentioned that, “The All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) strongly condemns the objectionable and offensive content being promoted on the YouTube show ‘India’s Got Latent. This show, hosted by Samay Raina and judged by Ranveer Allahbadia, Apoorva Makhija, Jasprit Singh, Ashish, and others, has crossed all ethical and moral boundaries by using extremely derogatory language, including remarks against parents and family values – which is absolutely unacceptable in any civilized society.”

In the letter the association mentions the the reason why there should be immediate action against them.

As per letter they stated these points

  1. ‘India’s Got Latent has previously used offensive language in multiple episodes, disrespecting Indian culture and values.
  2. Their influence on youth is dangerous, as they are planting toxic ideas that will have long-term negative effects.
  3. This show is a direct attack on Indian social and family values, damaging the moral fabric of our society.
  4. If left unchecked, such content will tarnish India’s global image and encourage more creators to spread similar negativity.

They also mentioned what kind of actions should be taken against them.

  1. The YouTube channel ‘India’s Got Latent should be permanently shut down, and all associated individuals should be banned from creating any future YouTube channels.
  2. YouTube India must be held accountable for allowing such harmful content, and stricter content regulations should be enforced.
  3. The government should introduce a strict censorship law for digital content to prevent such incidents in the future.
