Shanaya Kapoor is finally stepping into the limelight with Student of the Year 3! The popular star kid is set to play the lead in the new version of the hit film franchise. According to Mid-day reports, it’s going to be a web series instead of a movie, and it will stream on JioHotstar.
The shoot reportedly begins on April 20, 2025, in Mumbai under debutant director Reema Maya. And the Shanaya might be playing a double role in the series, adding a fresh edge to the high-school drama.
The franchise began in 2012 with Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, and Sidharth Malhotra, followed by Ananya Panday and Tara Sutaria’s debut in the 2019 sequel. Now, it’s Shanaya’s turn to shine, with the shoot planned to wrap up in 30 days.

Shanaya also has other projects lined up. Her film Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan, with Vikrant Massey, is ready and will release in 2025. She’s also working on a survival thriller called Tu Yaa Main with Adarsh Gourav, expected to hit the theaters on Valentine’s Day 2026. She is also filming afilming a new project with Munjya star Abhay Verma, directed by Shujaat Saudagar.
