Every year, several Bollywood celebrities visit the pandals in Mumbai, Maharashtra, to offer prayers to Goddess Durga. This year was no exception, with Alia Bhatt, Kajol, Bipasha Basu and Rani Mukherjee among those who paid their respects. As their pictures circulate online, we can’t help but admire their stunning traditional looks. So as the 10-day festival comes to and end, we take a glance back at the top five looks from these actors and what made them truly stunning.
Alia Bhatt rocked in red saree
Actor Alia Bhatt made a stunning appearance at North Bombay Sarbojanin Durga Puja Samiti,, hosted by fellow actors Kajol and Rani Mukerji. She dazzled in a vibrant red saree adorned with heavily embroidered borders and intricate cut-out scallops. The Jigra actor wore it over a deep-neck blouse and accessorized the look with minimal earrings and a neatly tied bun. What made it standout was the grace with which she carried the saree. The ethereal beauty of the colour red suited her perfectly, making it clear that it’s definitely her signature hue.

Bipasha Basu gave major bong vibes
Actor Bipasha Basu arrived at the Durga Puja pandal for Ashtami with her daughter Devi and husband Karan Singh Grover, wearing a stunning sea-green saree by fashion brand Mango. The saree was beautifully paired with a fuchsia pink blouse and featured a traditional golden border with moon motifs all over it. She accessorised her look with a motia gajra and a big, round bindi, completing her elegant ensemble. This classic combination added to her grace and proved that she’s a true Bengali at heart, with a deep understanding of traditional styling.
Rani Mukherjee donned a bright yellow saree
Rani Mukerji chose a bright yellow saree, which might sound too much, but looked absolutely stunning on the actor. The saree’s shimmery texture and sheen gave it a very rich appearance. The actor tried to tone down the overall look by opting for minimal makeup. However, she did not go light on jewellery as she chose heavy temple jewelry along with yellow gajra in her hair. Rani embodied the elegance of a traditional Bengali woman with a keen sense of style.
Kajol’s organza saree look wins
Kajol opted for a beautiful organza saree in baby pink, adorned with yellow floral patterns all over. The saree featured a broad pink border with intricate motifs and she stylishly left the pallu free-flowing, making the entire look effortlessly elegant. As the host at the Durga Puja event, Kajol moved around with ease, exuding comfortable vibes in the saree. Her heavy necklace elevated the overall appearance, while skipping earrings prevented an overly done look. A messy braided hairstyle and a small bindi on her forehead added to her graceful demeanor.
Tanisha Mukherji chose white over bright colors
Tanisha Mukherjee took a break from bright, vibrant colors this Durga Puja and opted for a serene white, heavily embroidered saree with beautiful scallops and intricate detailing. She paired it with a deep-neck white blouse featuring a bow neck at the back. The saree struck a perfect balance between tradition and modernity. She complemented the silver-white saree with a golden choker necklace, minimal earrings, and golden kadaas. The overall combination of gold and white-silver looked stunning on her. For her hair, she tied it in a high bun.
