After receiving a lot of praise for playing the Rehman Dakait in Dhurandhar, Akshaye Khanna is going through a successful phase in his career. His performance made a strong impact on audiences and has increased interest in his upcoming projects.
Recent reports suggest that Akshaye Khanna may soon work with Sunny Deol again, nearly 29 years after their last film together, Border (1997). The two actors are said to be teaming up for Sunny Deol’s upcoming action and crime thriller titled Ikka.
The buzz grew after a Reddit post claimed that Akshaye Khanna has joined the cast of Ikka. The film is reportedly being made for a direct OTT release instead of a theatrical one. If the reports are true, this will be the second time Sunny Deol and Akshaye Khanna appear together on screen.
Details about Akshaye’s role are not known yet, including whether he will play a negative character. The film is also expected to feature Dia Mirza and Sanjeeda Sheikh in important roles.
So far, the makers have not officially confirmed Ikka. However, after the success of Jaat, reports say Sunny Deol has signed a deal with Netflix, which has led to speculation that Ikka may stream directly on the platform.
