According to reports, ‘Haiwaan’ will be the remake of the 2016 Malayalam film ‘Oppam’, starring Mohanlal. As per a report by Bollywood Hungama, Akshay Kumar will take on the villain’s role, and Saif Ali Khan is reportedly playing the lead. The source revealed, “The film is essentially a high-stakes battle between Akshay and Saif, and they’re going to go all out against each other. It’s going to be a gripping and intense watch.”
An insider also told Hindustan Times that both actors were thrilled after reading the script. “Akshay and Saif have always enjoyed working with each other and admired each other’s work. The moment they read the script, they knew they were on board,” the source revealed.
In ‘Oppam’, Mohanlal played a bling man. The movie focused on a retired judge, who faces difficulty keeping his daughter safe from a convict he had imprisoned. Later, when he is murdered, a man with visual impairment who was loyal to him tries to defend his daughter.
