Nandamuri Balakrishna is back on the big screens with his film ‘Akhanda 2’, a sequel to the 2021 fantasy action ‘Akhanda’. The movie is set after the events of the first film and explores the connection between children’s innocence, the natural world, and spiritual faith as communities strive for progress.
The story continues with Janani in danger, targeted by an enemy nation. Keeping his promise, Akhanda returns to protect her, using his supernatural powers to fight the threats and defend the country. The sequel shows how his extraordinary abilities help him face these challenges, mixing fantasy, action, and family drama.
As the film continues to make waves in theaters, fans are also eagerly waiting to know when and where it will be available to stream online.
Where to watch?
Reports, including those from OTTPlay, suggest that Akhanda 2: Thaandavam will start streaming on Netflix after completing its theatrical run. While an official date is yet to be confirmed, it is expected to arrive around mid January 2026, roughly four weeks post release.

About Akhanda 2
The movie was earlier supposed to release in theatres on December 5, 2025, but got postponed due to a stay order from the Madras High Court. It finally arrived in theatres on December 12.
Box office collection day 1:
According to the website Sacnilk, Akhanda 2 earned Rs 22 crore on day 1 as per early estimates. It collected Rs 8 crore in the pre-release screenings. Most of its earnings came in the Telugu language, with Hindi, Kannada, Tamil and Malayalam dubbed barely earning anything.
