Nandamuri Balakrishna is back on the big screens with his film ‘Akhanda 2’, a sequel to the 2021 fantasy action ‘Akhanda’. The movie is set after the events of the first film and explores the connection between children’s innocence, the natural world, and spiritual faith as communities strive for progress.

How much has Akhanda 2 earned worldwide?
The Nandamuri Balakrishna led Telugu sequel collected approximately Rs 33 crore in India, a figure that includes around Rs 9 crore from Thursday night preview shows. Overseas, the film added another USD 850,000 (around Rs 7.5 crore), taking its worldwide opening day total to roughly Rs 40 crore.
About Akhanda 2
The movie was earlier supposed to release in theatres on December 5, 2025, but got postponed due to a stay order from the Madras High Court. It finally arrived in theatres on December 12.
Akhanda 2 also stars Samyuktha Menon, Aadhi Pinisetty, and Harshaali Malhotra. Directed by Boyapati Sreenu and produced by Ram Achanta, Gopi Achanta, and Ishan Saksena, its music is composed by Thaman S, cinematography handled by C Ramprasad and editing by Tammiraju.
Reports, including those from OTTPlay, suggest that Akhanda 2: Thaandavam will start streaming on Netflix after completing its theatrical run. While an official date is yet to be confirmed, it is expected to arrive around mid January 2026, roughly four weeks post release.
