Nandamuri Balakrishna’s Akhanda 2: Thaandavam was released with tremendous anticipation, but immediately after the first day, the film began to show concerning signs. Although the first-day collection was a disappointment, Akhanda 2 got off to a decent start. Following that, things have been disastrous. On the first Monday, day four, it is evident that Akhanda 2 would be a major disaster at the Indian box office. Unfortunately, it appears that Nandamuri Balakrishna’s hope of reaching Rs 100 crore would be shattered yet again.
Akhanda 2 box office collection day 4: Check daywise earnings
Given Balayya’s unbroken track record and the fact that it was a sequel, the Akhanda sequel was projected to bring in record numbers. Unfortunately, from the outset, things have been disappointing. It grossed 61.1 crores on its first weekend. On the first Monday, it was expected to fall by 50% or less from the previous day, but it really fell more severely.
According to Sacnilk, Akhanda 2 made Rs 5.35 crore on day four, a 76.22% reduction from day 1’s Rs 22.5 crore (excluding premieres). The film has decreased by 64.56% from day three, when it earned Rs 15.1 crore. In both instances, the drop is significant, indicating that the film has flopped.
Overall, Akhanda 2 made an estimated 66.45 crore net at the Indian box office, equating to 78.41 crore gross. Given the low performance on Monday, the film is projected to experience significant reductions in the remaining weekdays of the first week, resulting in a disappointing total for the first week.
Will Akhanda 2 reach the Rs 100 crore mark?
The new Akhanda sequel was the largest bet for Nandamuri Balakrishna to score his first century (net collection) at the Indian box office. However, it appears that the senior Tollywood hero would have to wait longer to release his first 100 crore net film, and his chances of collecting 100 crore net are slim even now.
Because word of mouth is negative to mixed, Akhanda 2 is expected to end with a net collection of 85-95 crore in India.
