Nandamuri Balakrishna is back on the big screens with his film ‘Akhanda 2’, a sequel to the 2021 fantasy action ‘Akhanda’. The movie is set after the events of the first film and explores the connection between children’s innocence, the natural world, and spiritual faith as communities strive for progress. Akhanda 2 had a good opening in theatres, owing to the excellent response of its first instalment.
Akhanda 2 Box Office Collection Day 1:
According to the website Sacnilk, Akhanda 2 earned Rs 22 crore on day 1 as per early estimates. It collected Rs 8 crore in the pre-release screenings. Most of its earnings came in the Telugu language, with Hindi, Kannada, Tamil and Malayalam dubbed barely earning anything.
Akhanda 2 also stars Samyuktha Menon, Aadhi Pinisetty, and Harshaali Malhotra. Directed by Boyapati Sreenu and produced by Ram Achanta, Gopi Achanta, and Ishan Saksena, its music is composed by Thaman S, cinematography handled by C Ramprasad and editing by Tammiraju.
While speaking to 123telugu, Samyukta talked about her role. She shared, “It will be extremely stylish. My role becomes very significant in a key sequence. I was told that I should perform a song, which made me nervous. I haven’t done such a mass song earlier. I decided to give my best, but my knees didn’t cooperate. Later, I underwent physiotherapy. We must entertain the audience. That’s the final goal of an artist.”
The movie was earlier supposed to release in theatres on December 5, 2025, but got postponed due to a stay order from the Madras High Court. It finally arrived in theatres on December 12.
