Ajay Devgn’s upcoming film ‘Son Of Sardaar 2’ has been pushed to a new date but the reason behind postponing the film has not been disclosed. The movie has created excitement among the audience as it is the sequel to his hit 2012 comedy film. As netizens expressed their shock over the new release date, many people speculate that the makers took this decision due to the ‘Saiyaara’ craze.
For the unversed, ‘Saiyaara’ has already become a blockbuster and has collected over 20 crore on its opening day. This is surprising for the industry as it stars new faces, Aneet Padda and Ahaan Panday as the leads. Netizens were quick to comment ‘Saiyaara effect’ after Ajay Devgn postponed the release date of ‘Son Of Sardaar 2’ by six days.

‘Son Of Sardaar 2’ will release on August 1, 2025. It was earlier scheduled to hit the theatres on July 25, 2025. Apart from Ajay Devgn, the movie also stars Mrunal Thakur, Ravi Kishan and Sanjay Mishra in the lead roles. ‘Son Of Sardaar 2’ also features the late actor Mukul Dev, who passed away on May 23, 2025, a few months before the release of his movie.
Vindhu Dara Singh, who is also a part of ‘Son Of Sardaar 2’, remembered Mukul Dev and called him a brilliant man. He told Times Now, “I have all his memories with me because we made so many videos. I have so many videos of him. We would go to the shooting together and come back from the shooting together. We spent lots of evenings together. His family had come, and my daughter had come. All of us had a blast. He was a brilliant man.”
He added, “He was very loved. Usually, I feel I’m the most loved (person) wherever I go. But here, on this set, you could feel that Mukul Dev was the most loved. Everybody loved him so much. He was a wonderful and lovable person.”
The first part of ‘Son Of Sardaar 2’ was released in 2012 and also starred Sonakshi Sinha, Juhi Chawla and Sanjay Dutt.
