New Delhi: Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan I is gaining huge praise ever since the trailer was unveiled. Fans are already excited to witness the film on the big screen. The film will hit screens on September 30. Now a new BTS picture from the most highlighted scene of the film is doing rounds on the internet.

A BTS picture of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan as Nandini and Trisha as Kundavai is going viral. In the picture, the duo is seen taking a selfie during the shooting of the most anticipated face-off scene on the sets.

Ponniyin Selvan will see Trisha and Aishwarya Rai as arch rivals. Trisha plays the role of Princess Kundavai and Aishwarya plays the role of queen Nandini.

Trisha Krishnan in an interview said, “I fortunately got to meet her and interact with her on the day one of my shoot. She is beautiful inside and out, I don’t even need to say that. The thing is, this was challenging because we are not supposed to like each other too much in this film, but we got along pretty famously on set. There were times when Mani sir would come and say, ‘listen, you guys are taking too much, stop talking, I can’t have this camaraderie for my scene.”

The trailer and audio launch event of Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan took place in Chennai earlier this month.

It is to be mentioned that, in Ponniyin Selvan, Aishwarya will be seen in dual roles. She will play queen Nandini, the princess of Pazhuvoor, who is on a mission to seek vengeance, as well as Mandakini Devi. ‘Ponniyin Selvan’ will come in two parts.
