Agent box office collection Day 4: Since it opened in theatres last week, Akhil Akkineni’s Agent has drawn unfavourable reviews. The public and critics have slammed the Surender Reddy-directed movie for its absurd plot and script. After four days in theatres, the movie is very close to making Rs 10 crore. Amala Akkineni, a former actress and Akhil’s mother, recently discussed the film’s reception on social media.

Ponniyin Selvan: Part 2 and Akhil Akkineni’s Agent competed against each other at the box office. However, the Telugu movie fell flat with the audience right away.
While Agent saw respectable numbers on its first day, it experienced a sharp decline over the weekends due to unfavourable word of mouth. The movie is expected to have made Rs 75 lakh in theatrical sales on its opening Monday (April 1). The four-day total revenue now stands at Rs 9.60 crore.
This is undoubtedly a very low figure for a movie that had an almost Rs 80 crore budget.

Surender Reddy’s tweet on the film’s fail
After the film fail to impress the audience in the theatres, the director Surender Reddy took the entire blame.
His tweet read, “We have to take the entire blame for #Agent. Though we know its an uphill task, we thought of conquering but failed to do so as we did a blunder starting the project without a bound script & innumerable issues including covid followed (sic).”

He further added, “We don’t want to give any excuses but learn from this costly mistake and see how we can turnaround to make sure, we will never repeat the mistakes. Our sincere apologies to all those who put trust on us. We will make it up for the losses with dedicated planning & hardwork in our future projects (sic).”

This action film is directed by Surender Reddy. It’s a story written by Vakkantham Vamsi. In films such as Kick and Race Gurram, Surender Reddy and Vakkantham Vamsi had previously worked. The agent has Mammootty in a key role. The story of the film is written by Vakkantham Vamsi.
After Yatra (2019), it’s a new film for him in Telugu. Dino Morea and the new arrival Sakshi Vaidya are also part of the cast. The movie is scheduled for release on April 28th in the cinemas.
