Malayalam actress Lena shared on Instagram on February 27 that she married Indian Air Force test pilot and Gaganyaan astronaut Group Captain Prasanth Balakrishnan Nair on January 17, 2024.
Shortly after Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced Group Captain Nair as one of the four astronauts undergoing Gaganyaan mission training, Lena took to social media to proudly reveal that she is married to him.
Accompanied by a collage featuring herself and her husband Prashanth Nair, Lena penned, “Today, on February 27, 2024, our Prime Minister Modi ji conferred the First Indian Astronaut Wings upon Indian Air Force Fighter Pilot Group Captain Prasanth Balakrishnan Nair. This marks a historic moment of pride for our country, our state of Kerala, and personally for me.”

Lena also revealed that the couple had married on January 17 but had refrained from announcing it earlier to maintain confidentiality. She explained that she had been waiting for the official announcement to share the news of her marriage to Prasanth, which took place in a traditional ceremony through an arranged marriage.
Group Captain Nair, born on August 26, 1976, in Thiruvazhiyad, Kerala, embarked on his aviation journey following his education at the National Defence Academy (NDA). Joining the fighter stream of the Indian Air Force (IAF) upon commissioning on December 19, 1998, he has amassed around 3,000 hours of flight time across various aircraft, including the formidable Su-30 MKI, MiG-21, and MiG-29. His roles as a Category A Flying Instructor and Test Pilot highlight his significant contributions, particularly in commanding a premier Su-30 Squadron.
Lena is an acclaimed Indian actress known for her work primarily in Malayalam and Tamil cinema. With over 100 films in Malayalam to her credit, she has also starred in movies across various languages including English, Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi. Additionally, Lena has made notable appearances in award-winning television series in Malayalam.
