Darshan Thoogudeepa, a well-known Kannada actor, was reportedly arrested in connection with the murder of his 33-year-old fan, Renukaswamy. Sources revealed that on the day of Renukaswamy’s murder, Darshan was socializing at a pub in Bengaluru. Following the party, Darshan allegedly visited a shed where Renukaswamy was purportedly kidnapped and later found deceased.
According to sources, Darshan’s friend Pavithra Gowda, who was also arrested in the case, was inside the shed during the assault on Renukaswamy. Police stated that Renukaswamy had allegedly posted derogatory messages about her on social media, which reportedly angered Darshan.
After Renukaswamy’s murder, three of the accused reportedly went to a Reliance Trends shop in RR Nagar, Bengaluru, to change their clothes because the ones they were wearing had blood stains, according to sources.
On Monday, Bengaluru Police took the accused to the same shop to recreate the crime scene. Darshan might be taken to Mysuru to recreate the crime scene, sources said.

Sources reported that Renukaswamy’s gold chain and wallet were discovered at the residence of the accused, Raghavendra, in Chitradurga. The accused also allegedly took the fan’s gold chain.
Renukaswamy, an autorickshaw driver and a member of Darshan’s fan club, was allegedly kidnapped from Chitradurga district on June 8 after sending derogatory messages to Gowda. His body was later found near Sumanahalli Bridge in Bengaluru.
According to a post-mortem report, Renukaswamy was tortured and subjected to electric shocks before his death. Details of the alleged torture were disclosed by Dhanraj, who was arrested in connection with the case on June 16th.
The police have so far arrested 19 people, including Darshan and Gowda, in the case.
